I wanted to be an estate planning attorney because at the end of the day I feel good about the work I am doing and the people I am helping. I was led this direction during law school after thinking I wanted to go into family law but then realizing the great need for estate planning after my son’s diagnosis of autism. I believe that my son’s diagnosis helped to guide me on the path to becoming an estate planning attorney.
I have been in the position of losing a loved one, of receiving startling news and having to reach out to every specialist, internet search, and friend that I could find, and going over legal documents. Because I have had these experiences, I want to be that connection to provide solutions. An estate plan is a solution. It is a solution to avoid probate, avoid family arguments, avoid uncertainty regarding last wishes. It is a relief for those who create their estate plan and it is a gift for those who will need it after their loved ones have passed away.
